5 Things I’ll Be Doing Instead of Watching The Superbowl

I’m not boycotting the Superbowl – I just don’t like football. I know, I know. Football is a great American pastime and it’s shameful that I don’t enjoy it. Whatever. πŸ™‚ I’ve tried, and I just can’t get into it. The game moves too slowly and it just doesn’t make sense. So here’s what I’m doing instead of watching the Superbowl – and if you’re looking for options other than football for Sunday night, I have some ideas for you! πŸ™‚

#1 Catching Up on YouTube

Some of my favorite channels right now are The DailyΒ Connoisseur, Dominique SachseΒ and Pretty Neat Planner (from Jen of Pretty Neat Living!).

#2 Planning!

I’m loving my Happy Planner, and it’s so much fun to sit down on the weekend for some creative, pretty planning!

#3 Painting My Nails

I usually paint my nails on Sunday – this weekend I’m excited to break out some of the CND Vinylux polish I got for Christmas! (Here’s how I make my manicure last all week)

#4 Organizing A Drawer

Isn’t that what you say when you want to get out of something and don’t have a good excuse? So if anyone asks, I’m organizing something. πŸ™‚

#5 Eating

I’m not against everything that has to do with the Superbowl. When it comes to football food, I’m there! πŸ™‚ So far I’ve thought about making BBQ Cocktail Meatballs, Party Ryes, or Slow Cooker Nachos. What is your favorite football food?

Where do you stand with the Superbowl? Do you watch with full attention? Do you watch out of obligation? Or are you team “anything but the Superbowl?” However you spend your weekend, I hope it’s a great one! πŸ™‚

  1. I love the Super Bowl. Since my husband is a pastor and we have church on Sunday nights, I never get to watch it. If I were home I would watch it from start to finish. The teams playing are not my teams, but I’m a fan of football and snack foods! Ha!

  2. Can I come hang out with you. Russ and I are crazy, just so crazy you might love us. We do nothing for the super bowl, don’t even watch it. But come the Daytona 500? We have a big ol’ party.

    1. I wish we COULD hang out!! Daytona and Homestead are the best sporting events for parties! Years ago my friend had a Dale Jr. cardboard standup, and we’d drag him out for all the parties and take pictures with him. LOL.

  3. I love this! We don’t typically watch the Super Bowl either. The only things I ever really enjoy about it are the funny commercials and an excuse for an abundance of delicious eats! lol. The Daily Connoisseur and Pretty Neat Living are two of my favorites (we seriously have so much in common – lol), and you have a couple things in common with Dominique – great hair and makeup! πŸ˜‰ Happy {almost} weekend, sweet friend! Wishing you a fabulous one! xo – Brenda // ChattingOverChocolate.com

  4. I have never cared for Football. Therefore, I am not watching the Superbowl. We have church Sunday night so that’s where you will find me. πŸ™‚ But if we didn’t have church, I love the suggestions organizing and eating. They are right up my alley. lol πŸ˜€

  5. I like football but only watch my local team, who just so happen to be in the Superbowl this year! Go Patriots! If they were not, I’d probably just watch the commercials and putter around the house doing other things. Those are some of my favorite YouTube channels as well! πŸ™‚

  6. I usually watch the super bowl while I’m doing something else. And always after church. Or if we get invited to a friend’s after church, I hang out & watch. I don’t really care for pro football, but I love college football! I watch most weekends in the fall. πŸ™‚

  7. We will be watching and eating game day food. I used to be the same way about football and then my husband decided I needed to learn all the things about it so we could enjoy it together. I love your plan to get lots done for the week ahead. I’d love to paint my nails while I’m watching the game. We don’t really care who wins so it’ll be fun to just sit back and watch with some nachos. Hope you’re having a great weekend.

  8. Football isn’t my favorite, either. I think the SuperBowl is more exciting because it’s a spectacle. The ads are usually funny, the Halftime Show might have good music (really depends on the year!), and I enjoy making special food and eating with family/friends. We don’t have a local NFL team, so we like to pick a SuperBowl team and root for them. Mostly, though, I don’t really care who wins/loses. I look forward to the fun/party atmosphere. πŸ˜‰

Sounds like you had a more productive SuperBowl Sunday than I did. I’m down for a manicure anytime, and organizing is always helpful!
