$1 Organization Project {Makeup Organization}

Organization doesn’t have to cost a lot of money, and as you can see from the title of today’s post…I recently did an organization project for ONE dollar!

There is not much room for storage in my tiny master bathroom.  Recently I added a new piece of furniture to our guest bedroom – the dressing table my Pappa built for me twenty five years ago. I decided that the shallow drawer in the dressing table was perfect to house the extra makeup and skin care that wasn’t currently in my daily routine.

I had a few bins in my stash, but I found a pack of four little baskets at Dollar General for only $1! I couldn’t believe it – usually those baskets are 2 or 3/$1 at Dollar Tree. You might think that tiny, shallow drawers don’t need organization – but they really benefit from a few baskets. Here’s how I’ve organized my extra makeup and skin care.

If I had some contact paper or drawer liner on hand, I would have put that in the drawer as well. I’ll pick up a roll at Dollar Tree the next time I’m in there – that will really make the drawer look nice. I used the 4th bin to hold the tools I use for painting my nails every week – nail file, clippers, buffing block, etc. That bin will stay in my office at the desk where I paint my nails.

Have you shopped the organization supplies at Dollar General? Where is your favorite place to buy organizing bins?

  1. I’m fairly new to Dollar General, but they had a good variety of things last time I shopped. I’m always on the lookout for organizing pieces, so can’t say any one store is my go-to. If something fits my space/style, I’ll buy it! That’s a great buy you found on those bins!

  2. Looks great! I always like the look of contact paper in drawers, but have never taken the time to do it! Maybe I should consider updating my drawers that way. I rarely go into Dollar General, but great finds like these give me the urge to find one to stop in.
