Welcome to my Christmas home tour! I always enjoy decorating for Christmas, but this year I’ve been dreaming and planning about it since early fall. At the end of the post you’ll see the video tour – it’s a short 5 minute video with a few extra peeks that didn’t make it into the post!
A word about seasons – during this season of my life I am blessed with plenty of time to decorate my home to my heart’s content. That’s not always been the case. In 2010 I only put up a few decorations because my wedding was the week before Christmas! In 2012, we had only been in our new house a few weeks – I put up a few simple decorations and kept unpacking boxes. The Christmas of 2014 I was working full time at a very busy retail job and came home physically worn out every day. This year I’m only working part time, so I took my time and decorated until I was satisfied!
Life is an experience in seasons. If you’re in a season with little ones who keep you busy, an elderly parent who requires lots of care or a job that sends you home with an aching back or frazzled brain at the end of the day – take heart. If this season isn’t the one for intense decorating, another season will be!
Merry Christmas!

I love all of the cozy lights in your decor! It’s so warm and inviting. 🙂 I’m thinking I need to invest in a mug tree, as mine are all over the place. And very wise words about there being seasons in which more decorating happens. Some years it’s hard just to keep going!
I wanted a mug tree for a good while and absolutely love mine! You should get one!
What a beautiful space you get to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ in this holiday.
Thank you friend!
I love your bottle brush trees on your tiered stands and your pretty coffee table display. My kids would be too hard on a pretty tray like that right now so I’m saving that idea away for when my kids are older.
Totally get that – part of the reason I used the tray on the coffee table is so I can easily pick it up and put it away if we have company. Sometimes I even move the coffee table to another room!
All I can say is “Beautiful”!
Thank you, Tammy!
I have that Christmas bedtime stories book too. It was mine when I was younger and I actually gave it to Marissa so she would have something to read this year if she wanted. So fun to see your holiday home!
That book is from Paul’s collection – he has a bookshelf full of those books from his childhood. How fun that you had that book, too! 80’s kids for the win. 🙂
Whitney, it’s beautiful, you are a good decorator. The kitties make it extra special, and you have lots of nooks and crannies and the decorations are all special!
Thank you, Nana! ❤
Yes! We have 2 rooms worth of furniture in our living room right now, so we have very few decorations out, and only a Charlie Brown tree, and everyone is still happily enjoying the Christmas season. As long as there’s a Hallmark Christmas movie on the tv. 😉
And Evan’s concern through this whole video was “where’s the other kitty?!”. And he asks to watch Paul’s stocking video every day. I think Paul should do a video of your stocking again this year, too.
Bless your heart – hopefully next year you’ll be able to enjoy decorating again! 🙂 I try so hard to get Thelma Lou in my videos, but she’s just not as keen to be in the frame as Peggy. 🙂
So pretty Whitney…I love the vignette with the three trees!!
Thank you! That’s one of my favorite things I did this year.
That Cat under the tree looks so cute! 🙂
