February has come and gone, so it’s time to wrap up the highlights from the month!
#1 Favorite Outfits- It wasn’t as cold as I’d hoped, but I managed to get a few good layered outfits in there. The top picture shows one of my favorite coats, perfect for our rainy winters. I got it in the kid’s section at Target several years ago and still love it!
#2 Tennessee Weekend – We squeezed in a quick 24 hour trip to Tennessee last weekend! My parents were out of town but we still enjoyed being with my sister and her family. They taught us how to play Ticket To Ride, we ate my sister’s famous chocolate cream pie, we did some shopping and of course spent time with our adorable nephews!
#3 Friendship – My new clip bar has been full of sweet cards from dear friends and family this month! I’m thankful for – and challenged by – people who see beyond themselves to encourage and care for others. Friendship is a precious gift!
#4 In Sickness and In Health – this was a rough month for Paul! He had to visit the doctor twice and was out of work for a week with the flu. It’s not a high that he was sick, but it is a triumphant victory that I stayed well! I was diligent with the hand sanitizer, Lysol wipes and air disinfectant spray. Although he wasn’t well, it was nice to have Paul at home for a week before a very busy season begins. He was a good patient! 🙂
#5 It’s Not All Highs!
I think it’s important to point out that this month was not all roses and rainbows, just as it probably wasn’t all roses for you either. We dealt with sickness as well as a major expense when our HVAC unit was pronounced dead. Spending three weeks without heat or air conditioning wasn’t completely unbearable, but our house was pretty muggy and unpleasant. We made the choice to hope in God’s faithfulness and trust Him to provide for our needs – and that’s a good thing! Whatever you’re facing right now, let Jesus be the first Name that you call. He is the answer to every need!

My daughter was sick for almost 2 weeks with the flu! Just terrible stuff! Is that clip bar from the Target dollar spot? I just got one that looks so similar from there, but I need to hang it up. That chocolate cream pie looks so good and I love your polka dotted jacket!

So sorry your daughter had the flu – it was awful this year! Yes, that clip bar came from the dollar spot. I thought it was such a great deal at $3! Glad you were able to find one too!

Whitney, You are so precious. Every time I read one of your blog posts or see you on Youtube I think of your lovely mother. You are so much like her. I was looking at the picture of you and your sister. I think she must take after your dad. The picture of Paul with the baby is priceless. I love the clip bar idea. It is nice to look at those special cards and rejoice in the fact someone cared enough about you to send a card or note.
I hope you are having a good week-end.

Glad you got in some layers and some family time this month! That Disney foot/hand print art is my favorite!! Makes me want to head to Disney while my kids are little so we can have one of our own. What a sweet keepsake. Hope March is good to you 🙂

My sister in law is so talented – one year everyone got personalized hand/foot art for Christmas, and mine was perfect with Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast! She did that right after we’d been to Disney for our anniversary. I love it!

I don’t think I’ve ever been so happy to see March arrive! 🙂 For several weeks, it was snow every day or at least every other day. I’m thankful for the workout scooping gave me, as it’s helping me to get in shape more quickly. (Hello, arm definition!! LOL!) But having to scoop a long driveway to get out each morning gets old fast. Our snowblower has been inconsistent, so scooping’s been the method. So thankful that there were small amounts of snow each time, as it’s easier to scoop 2-3 inches than 6+ inches! God pretty much gave us what we could handle!
SO glad you escaped the flu!!! That is a HUGE accomplishment!!! And getting your air back on is wonderful, too! Expenses aren’t fun, but A/C is such a necessity almost year-round where you live! The A/C doesn’t usually come on here until late April/early May (depending on how the weather’s going). We’d also die without it during the hot and humid summer months! Your weekend getaway sounds like a lot of fun, too! Sometimes the little trips are a lot more rejuvenating than the week-long vacations. 🙂

Well I’m a little behind on replying to comments…but it looks like you spoke too soon about March. LOL. Hope you don’t have to do as much shoveling this time!! 🙂

The lovely thing about most March snow is that it melts fast! 🙂 We also can get some snow into April, but it’s also very fast at melting. Last week’s storm didn’t require too much scooping, so that was a relief!

Thanks for sharing all these fun pics of the month, as well as the difficult times that you had to look harder into the goodness of God. God is always good, but I think sometimes we see it more clearly in the hard times. Glad Paul is better and also that you’re cool once again! =)
