It seems like just the other day that I was putting away Christmas decor – and here we are at Memorial Day weekend! Here are 5 things for this pre-long weekend Friday:
1// My mom is so sweet to help me with my craft deficiencies. I showed her an Instagram picture of a chalkboard sign I wanted to hang on my Olive Wreath, and by the end of the day she had a solution that cost me less than $5! We grabbed the sign from Hobby Lobby and she painted it with chalkboard paint that she had on hand. I love that I can customize the sign for any season or holiday! Thanks Mom!
2// I mentioned on Wednesday that I got caught up in the Royal Romance…but I’ve also been a little distracted by what some have called the Disney-fication of American Idol. I used to be a dedicated Idol fan and was really excited to see the new version on ABC, and they did not disappoint me! My favorites throughout the season were the ones who ended up in the top two – and who revealed in the finale that they were a couple! They’re the sweetest little lovebirds and it just gives me all the feels. Anyone else totally enamored with Caleb and Maddie?
3// This post is just too good not to share: 10 Reasons Why Every Man Should Date A Cat Lady.
4// I wore a new OPI shade on my nails this week that I really love! It’s a nice bright coral that’s not too pink, not too orange. I found mine at TJ Maxx for $4, but here’s the link to view it at Ulta: OPI We Seafood and Eat It (affiliate).
5// Just a little housekeeping note to wrap it up: if you click the “Recipes” tab at the top of this page, it now takes you to a nice index of all my favorite recipes (instead of the previous never-ending scroll of blog posts). Yay!

Love this list! Great idea with the chalkboard, they are so versatile! I’ve not watched Idol this season, but I heard about the couple….so cute! That OPI polish name (and the great price!) makes me smile. They come up with such fun colors these days. And that’s so handy to have your recipes in one spot!
Hope your weekend was a great one. It was a scorcher here, so we shopped and ate indoors. Very relaxing! It’s nice to now be back in the 80s instead of the 100s. It definitely was more like the 4th of July and early August than Memorial Day.

I agree, it does seem like just yesterday that we were putting Christmas decor away and now it’s already the unofficial start to summer! It’s crazy how quickly time flies by!
