I haven’t done a post like this in a long time, but this was a doozy of a week and one worthy of recapping. So here we go!
#1 Two months ago a snake was discovered in the basement of the office where I work. I told that story here on the blog just this Monday…and Tuesday morning at work I discovered a lizard was hanging out under the upstairs fridge! I’d resorted to using the tiny fridge under our water cooler, since the big fridge is downstairs in snake land.
In the process of trying to capture the lizard, my coworkers ended up chasing it INTO MY OFFICE. I’m not deathly afraid of lizards (like I am with snakes), but having one slithering around a small work space isn’t my favorite way to spend a Tuesday. Bleck! The lizard has now been terminated…and I’m on constant reptile alert.
#2 While transferring pancakes from the pan onto a warming plate in the oven, I somehow dropped my plastic spatula. It landed right on the coil in the bottom of the oven and promptly went up in flames. In the words of Ryan Bailey Howard, “I can’t believe I started a fire.” (Office fans, you get me?)
#3 We had several pretty severe afternoon thunderstorms this week. Peggy is not a fan and has taken to hiding between (or on) my feet. It makes supper preparation just slightly difficult. Ha!
#4 Reading back through what I’ve shared so far, it doesn’t seem like this week was quite that bad. Trust me, there are other stories I could tell. It was one of those weeks where you think, “Is it just me, or is everyone else crazy?” LOL.
Working outside the home certainly provides for some interesting days – and it’s why I started this blog! I wanted a place where I could remind myself (and others) that no matter how crazy and hectic your life is away from home, having a comforting haven for your family makes all the difference. ❤
#5 There’s a new video on my YouTube channel! Come along as I clean out my purse!
Anyway, I’m so glad it’s Friday! Here’s hoping for an uneventful, reptile and fire-free weekend! 🙂
EEK! Lizards and snakes, oh my! Workplaces sure offer up some wild experiences. School starts here on Monday, and it’s never a dull moment there. We haven’t had any critters visit, but there’s always a first time for everything! Hoping your weekend is nice and relaxing, and that your utensils stay in their correct form. We haven’t had any really bad storms lately, but it looks like a bit of rain next week. The garden and flowers will appreciate it. 🙂

Those orange mints sound yummy!! I’ll have to look for those at the store. I always have a snack and usually a drink in my purse for everyone. I carry a backpack these days because it’s great to be hands free when I’m out and about with the kids. I also love little pouches for diapers/wipes, treats, etc.

I use a backpack purse for work events when I’m running all over the place – those things are so helpful when you’re busy!

Thankfully the pancakes didn’t burn. That would have been a tragedy! 😉
