It has been a gorgeous spring week here in South Carolina! The skies are blue, the grass is green and everything is in bloom. It’s supposed to pour the rain all day today, but hopefully that will wash some of the pollen away so people can breathe again. #springinthesouth
Easter weekend is one of my favorite times of the year. I have several things I want to do this weekend – here they are!
#1 Setting up my spring/summer closet – I’ve pulled out a couple things here and there, but it’s time to purge, organize and then shop for the things I need. I try not to shop in stores on Easter weekend (is it as crazy everywhere as it is in the South? Everyone needs new clothes for Easter around here. 🙂 ), but I might look for some good sales online.
#2 Watching American Idol – it’s Disney week! Are any of you into this show? My favorite girl went home last week but I’m going to watch at least one more night for all the Disney magic!
#3 Prepping for Easter Dinner – you can see my make-ahead menu here!
#4 Listening to my Easter playlist
#5 Meditating on the Easter story throughout the weekend – whether you’re new to the Easter story or you’ve heard it hundreds of times, can I recommend listening to it read from the New Living Translation on The Bible app? Their presentation makes the story come alive!

The NLT version really makes it come alive with different voices and background noises that make you feel like you’re there. It’s very impactful!

I will have to check out the Easter story on the Bible app. I have been following their chronological daily plan to read the Bible in a year and love having it read to me!

Hi Fonda! I’m so glad you commented – I’ve been following you on Instagram but now I’m following your blog, too! This year I’m doing the Bible in a Year plan on the app and listening through the NLT (instead of the ESV which is my go-to). It’s been really exciting to hear the voices, the background sounds and a little music as they read through the Old and New Testaments. I’m really enjoying it!
