5 Things on Friday {5.15.20}

This week’s number one highlight was our return to indoor restaurant dining! Our restaurants were able to open their dining rooms this week and we headed right to our current favorite taco spot, Tipsy Taco.

It has only been in the last year that we started doing weekly date nights. For years we could afford to maybe eat out once a month, so I chuckled to myself when I realized it had only been 9 weeks since our last restaurant date. It seemed like it had been ages!

#2 Cool Weather! We’ve continued to have days in the 60’s and 70’s, with cold mornings that are very uncharacteristic of this time of year. I’m trying to soak up every sweat-free minute that I can! 🙂

#3 Good Reads – I loved these posts from some of my favorite bloggers!

#4 Dollar Tree – I was able to stop in two different Dollar Tree stores this week. Although I didn’t find new and exciting things at either of them, I did find two packages of antibacterial wipes! I haven’t seen those since early March.

#5 Proverbs 10:28“The hope of the righteous brings joy.” I will confess that I’m getting impatient with this in-between stage of our pandemic lives. Things aren’t on lock down, but things aren’t back to normal either. I have to continually check my focus and place my hope in Jesus. That’s the hope that brings joy!

  1. Thanks for sharing my post. Things like that are always a pleasant surprise. Finding antibacterial wipes and paper goods are pleasant surprises now too, lol! It does feel good to go to a few more stores but weird too. I don’t like seeing everyone in masks because I can’t really see them. Have a great week.

    1. Of course! I love your outfit ideas! I agree – it is so weird to be out with everyone in masks, avoiding each other. I know everyone’s level of comfort and safety is different, so I’m trying to be understanding of that. Hope you have a great weekend!

  2. Thanks for the shout out! I’m excited to see things opening back up again. It’ll probably be a bit before we take the kids to a restaurant, but I’m really looking forward to a date night in the coming weeks to an actual restaurant. It’s been cool in the Midwest, too. We’ve been enjoying it. I am working on planning Olive’s 7th birthday party and need to make a Dollar Tree run this coming week. I haven’t been there since early March and I miss it!!

    1. Having children – and a newborn – definitely makes it a little different for going back out into public places. I hope you all get a fun date night soon, and yay for a Dollar Tree trip!
