How To Save Money on Christmas Gifts

1. Be Organized

I know, I know. Not everyone is organized. But I’m here to tell you that this is a huge part of saving money on Christmas gifts!

Having a plan for what you’re going to buy, how much you’re going to spend and where you will store the gifts until they’re ready to be wrapped all make a huge difference and will keep you on budget.

2. Buy Multiples

You can buy three gifts from OldNavy.com, spending enough to earn free shipping and the ability to use a 20% off coupon…or you can buy one gift from OldNavy.com, one gift from Target.com and one gift from Kohls.com while paying shipping on all three orders.

One year I bought quarter zip sweatshirts for all the men in my family, but each guy received one with his favorite collegiate team’s logo. I bought them all from the same site, earned free shipping + got half of them for free!

3. Earn Money When You Shop

I’m always looking for promotions that earn gift cards, cash back or some other reward that I know I’ll use. For example, I love Target’s gift card promotions because I buy a lot of household items at Target. If I can earn gift cards when I purchase Christmas gifts at Target, that’s like cash in my wallet.

If you’re not already earning cash back from Rakutenwhat are you waiting for? I’ve earned $385 by using the Rakuten toolbar on my browser. Not only does it earn cash back for me, the toolbar helps me find any coupon codes the store is offering.

  1. Being organized helps so much! My husband and I had a meeting last night to go over stocking stuffers and gifts we’ve already purchased. We came up with a game plan to finish our shopping and then did some of it online after the kids went to bed. It’s super easy to overspend when you’re both picking up stuff.
