BBQ Pork Roast in 15 Minutes: You Have To Try This Recipe!

You read that correctly – today I’m sharing a pork roast meal that only requires 15 minutes of hands on time! It takes less than 5 ingredients to make the whole meal, and you can find all these items at Aldi.

This meal requires only a few minutes of hands on time but delivers lots of flavor that tastes like you were in the kitchen all day! I’ve made this meal for Saturday supper twice now – it’s perfect for a busy day at home.

It starts with a pre-seasoned pork roast – something I wouldn’t normally purchase! When I saw Paula Deen use one on her show, I decided to try one too! I don’t think Paula Deen shops at Aldi so you can probably find something similar to what I used at Kroger or Publix. 🙂

Here’s what I bought at Aldi:

  • Earthly Grains 90 Second Jasmine Rice (one package serves 2-3 people)
  • Season’s Choice Steamed Asian Seasoned Medley
  • Boneless Pork Shoulder Roast with BBQ Seasoning

I put the roast in my slow cooker and added enough chicken broth to cover the meat. I’ve found that the only way to get juicy, tender meat in the slow cooker is by adding liquid. I let it cook on low for about 3 hours (mine was less than 3 pounds). How easy is that?

Using a digital meat thermometer always saves the day when I’m trying to figure out if a roast is done! I let the roast rest on the cutting board, covered, while I prepped the sides.

The rice and veggies can’t be easier – just follow the microwave instructions. I personally don’t think these veggies have any Asian flavor to them, so I add a little garlic salt when they’re ready to serve.

I sliced the meat really thin and served it (and the rice) with the pan juices. The seasoning on the meat is perfect. There was no need to thicken or flavor the pan juice – even my husband who always prefers creamy gravy declared it to be just right!

The next evening I reheated the leftover meat in more of the pan juices on the stove. The leftovers would also be great on sandwiches!

My love affair with ordering Aldi groceries through Instacart is still going strong! If your store orders grocery pickup, I say it’s definitely worth a try. This saves me so much time and energy!
