A while back I shared my 2 1/2 quart Corningware dish on Instagram Stories and talked about what a great wedding gift it was! I don’t remember if I registered for it or if it was just a thoughtful gift from someone who knew it was a great dish, but it’s a keeper.
It was fun to hear from a lot of you who also received this dish (or a similar one) as a wedding gift and who have loved it as much as I have!

It’s not a dish I use weekly, but it is perfect for casseroles or things that don’t have to be baked in a 9×13 or 8×8 pan. I love the glass lid – it’s perfect when I’m taking a hot dish to a gathering.
Right now Walmart and Target have various versions of this dish for around $20!
That made me think about some of my other favorite kitchen items. If you’re headed to wedding this spring or summer, any of these would make great gifts!

Silicone Baking Mats: These help cookies hold their shape and keep baked goods from getting dark on the bottom too quickly. They work well in the place of parchment paper, too.
Instant Read Digital Meat Thermometer: I never want to cook meat without one of these! It takes all the guesswork out of it.

Cereal Storage Containers: I use these for cereal and snacks. They keep things so fresh and really make the pantry look more organized.
Ninja Hot and Iced Coffee Maker: If you want a programmable coffee maker that brews single serve, full pots and over ice coffee – this is the one you need. I love this thing.

5 Piece Mixing Bowl Set with Lids: These things are the best! I use them as mixing bowls, as serving bowls, and for storing leftovers! The larger sizes are great for storing heads of lettuce in the fridge. I love that they are microwave and dishwasher safe. (There are five bowls in the set – I just pulled these out of the fridge for the picture)
Favorite Cookbooks:
- Blue Ribbon Baking From A Redneck Kitchen: Foolproof recipes for pie crust, chocolate chip cookies, pumpkin bread, no-bake cookies and more!
- Southern Plate: Classic Comfort Food That Makes Everyone Feel Like Family: This one has my go-to recipes for banana bread, deviled eggs, chicken and dumplings, and a great crockpot chili.
Any of these items would make great wedding or housewarming gifts!
As a special bonus for today, my mom is sharing a couple of her favorite wedding gifts that she still uses and loves after 40 years! She also is highlighting some newer tools that are great ideas for gift-giving. Visit her post to see them all!

Whitney, I love this idea of you and your mom sharing kitchen and wedding gift essentials! I’m glad to hear you say how much you’ve enjoyed your Ninja Coffee Maker because I’ve been interested in this one for a while but have read mixed reviews on it. It’s good to know you’ve been pleased with yours!

I got a Pyrex 9×13 glass dish with a lid and a travel pouch that I have used a ton. You zip it up and go. It’s insulated and keeps things hot or cold. A few other wedding gifts that I still use often almost 18 years later are my Kitchen Aid mixer, daily dishes, mixing bowl set and lots of Pampered Chef kitchen gadgets.

I LOVE that corningware casserole dish too!!! Mine just cracked this year, it was so, so sad!!!! I was actually thinking of replacing it but realized with our 4th child on the way I was starting to use my decorative larger white 9 x 13 dish more often so I didn’t buy a new one. But it still would be great for things like apple crisp or side dishes so maybe I will!
