It’s hard to believe that it’s the last day of September. I have a lot to say in this post, but I don’t want you to miss the invitation I have for you at the end. Here we go!
The Highlights
I kicked off the month with a visit to a new hair stylist who managed to get my super straight hair nice and curly – she’s a miracle worker! 🙂

I’m always eager to take in all the Royal family news and was glued to the coverage following Queen Elizabeth’s death.
The planner in me is fascinated by the perfectly organized events, from the Queue while she was lying in state to the massive day-long event of her funeral. Everyone just seems to know exactly where to go and what to do. I read somewhere that they’ve been planning this for 14 years. Amazing.

September is my birthday month, and I had an amazing birthday dinner at Sidewall Pizza in Greenville. We had the wedge salad and their stuffed pizza, and both were so delicious.

I asked for sleep headphones for my birthday after I saw Christina’s recommendation for them. Paul and I had to try them out immediately. Ha! I love my sleep mask, but sometimes I like to fall asleep listening to some kind of white noise. I’m loving it!
The link for the headphones is here, along with a few of my other favorite things from September.

This month we had a Zoom interview relating to our adoption process. I grabbed this family selfie (minus Peggy) while we were waiting for the call to begin.

Thelma Lou turned 10 this month!

I’m not often able to go along when Paul referees college volleyball, but I made it to a game at Clemson last weekend. I’m so proud of how far he’s made it in this sport! You can hear me talk all about my life as the wife of a college sports official in this interview from More Than A Season Podcast.

We spent Labor Day weekend in Pigeon Forge with my family. I recapped that weekend here – it was so much fun!

From This Month’s Bible Reading
This is my 5th trip through the whole Bible in a year, and I have enjoyed the minor prophets (basically the 2nd half of the Old Testament) more than ever before. This verse is one of my favorites from the month:
Tear your hearts, not just your clothes, and return to the Lord your God. For he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in faithful love, and he relents from sending disaster. (Joel 2:13)
God isn’t after little robots who mechanically perform his bidding. He wants our hearts. He desires a love relationship with us. I love what The Bible Recap says about this chapter: “We don’t know what God will do, but we know who he is!”
In a constantly changing and uncertain world filled with heartache and disappointment, we can rest in the knowledge of God’s character. Read that verse again and think about how that truth can comfort your heart today. ❤
—> If committing to read the whole Bible is a little overwhelming to you, why not read the New Testament with me? I finished the Old Testament today and will be jumping into the New Testament tomorrow (October 1). I would love for you to join me. Here’s the plan on The Bible app or find out more from The Bible Recap. It’s just a three month plan that will, I know, whet your appetite for more!

Thanks, Alinda! My hair is just like that too – fine, slick and straight. I was shocked at how curly it was and how long it stayed that wa!
