Is there anything that’s better about Christmas than the food? I come from a family of foodies, not the least of which is my Mom who as of yesterday had baked 29 DOZEN CHRISTMAS COOKIES. We’re staying home for Christmas this year, so I won’t get to eat any of those goodies (unless my sister brings some back for me….ahem). I’ve been planning my menu for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for several weeks now, and after tweaking it to match what I found on sale this week, I’m ready to get cookin’!
I created this chalkboard background print at PicMonkey to display in my kitchen over the holiday. It turned out very nicely printed in color, so head over to PicMonkey and make one for your menu!
Here are the recipes I’m using…
Classic Lasagna from Southern Living
- I love this because it can be made ahead. I don’t want to be in the kitchen all day on Christmas Eve, so I’m planning to make the lasagna on Monday and refrigerate it overnight.
- This is the same one I took to Thanksgiving, and my husband loved it so much I just had to make it again for him!
Flank Steak with Portobella Mushrooms from Katie Brown’s Workshop
- When I found a flank steak marked down 50% at my grocery store I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it! I’m modifying the recipe and will leave out the blue cheese and basil to suit my husband’s taste.
Do you have your Christmas menu planned? I’d love to hear what you’re making!
Looks delicious!! I love lasagna, cinnamon rolls and all those treats. I’m sure that they’ll look extra tasty on your pretty table. Merry Christmas!! Whitney @ http://polka-dottyplace.blogspot.com/
