I feel slightly hypocritical posting about Spring while we are still in February. I love winter weather (at least the kind we get in the South) and try very hard to be content with whatever season we are experiencing. However, last weekend I became suddenly and significantly sick of my living room/kitchen decor. It was still bearing the dark reds and heavy linens of winter with a few Valentines Day pieces here and there. We have icy patches left from last Tuesday and I saw a few flurries on Saturday…I’m fine with that. I just needed to lighten things up on the inside!
If you’ve been stuck inside with #snowmageddon, perhaps you know how I felt. After perusing the pages of the Spring Pottery Barn catalog, I knew what I wanted to do. Not only did I freshen up the rest of my home decor (here and there), I created a spring tablescape like I’d seen in the PB catalog. I grabbed a $6 bouquet of white spring blooms from Ingles and added it to what I already had on hand and came up with this…
I don’t have china, so I dressed up my everyday white dishes with white damask napkins, antique green bowls and gold rimmed salad plates.
I noticed several centerpieces in the PB catalog that were simple bouquets in clear vases. My centerpiece is certainly simple, but I like it! The little bunny came from Walgreens’s post-Easter clearance last year! I couldn’t wait to pull him out this Spring!
I reluctantly put the dishes and linens away after taking these pictures – but I know how the table will be set for Sunday lunch sometime soon. My blooms and the bunny are still on the table, though!
With thoughts of Springtime in the Carolinas,
Everything looks so pretty! I love green and white color palette for spring. So fresh and clean! The snow made me desperate for Spring. I already hauled out my Spring and Easter decor, ready to put up this weekend. Can’t wait!

I was tempted to pull out my spring this week too, but decided to wait until March. Your little bunny is the cutest! I love seeing bunnies as spring decor.

Let’s retitle this post: Whitney’s Best Table Setting of ALL TIME!! I love this combo! Maybe because green is my favorite color? Maybe because it looks so crisp, fresh and inviting?? Either way, it’s lovely. I love the dish combinations, those vintage green dishes are dreamy and you’ll have to tell me your secret of maintaining fresh flowers with felines. Mine turn into herbivores with any indoor plant. Lovely work!! You’ve inspired me to get busy and bust out the Spring at my house (despite the ice outside 🙂

Well thank you so much!! I was really pleased/surprised with how nice it turned out as well. I don’t have fresh flowers very often…but I noticed a few leaves had made their way off the stems and onto the table this morning. Peggy is NOT allowed on the kitchen table…but that doesn’t mean she won’t try to sneak up there when I’m not looking. I’m afraid she eats the flowers more than I realize. Such a stinker!

I am ready for spring as well Whitney. I think we have had more cold weather in February than we have had in Dec and Jan!

Us too! We had ice last week and snow today. I don’t mind the snow though – it’s so lovely.
