I love having company for Sunday dinner. Paul’s work schedule kept us from entertaining for the past eight months, but that’s over and we enjoyed having his brother at Sunday dinner yesterday. One of my favorite things in life is lingering at the kitchen table after the meal is finished, talking and enjoying each other’s company. Since yesterday was the Daytona 500, we also had the glorious sounds of NASCAR in the background while we ate dessert!
Here’s this week’s grocery haul and menu plan – I only shopped Aldi and had a surprisingly pleasant experience! 🙂

Your chicken noodle casserole sounds delicious! I’ve been craving chicken & dumplings for weeks so that would definitely hit the spot. Glad you were able to host a yummy dinner and I bet your brother in law appreciated the experience. Your glorious NASCAR comment made me smile because that’s how I feel about the start of football season. It’s so fun to have sports to watch with your family 🙂
That casserole is one I make if I’m taking supper to someone…if we lived closer, I’d bring you a pan of it when Fletcher comes!
I love chatting at the dinner table too! Give me a hot drink and dessert and I’m set for hours 🙂
Exactly!
Aldi has become my new favorite store! I know I’m late in the game, but now that I’m eating mainly plant-based, a good whole foods section is really important to me. And Aldi has met the challenge head on!!
You’ve been a loyal Publix girl for a long time, haven’t you? I agree, they have some deals that are just too good to pass up!
I could go for some new casserole ideas the boys might eat. That chicken noodle one sounds fab!
I don’t put any veggies in ours, to suit my husband’s preference. 🙂 That casserole is great because you can make it ahead and bake when you’re ready to eat!
I think I’m going to give that tortellini bake a try! I could do a veggie one for me and a meat one for the guys. Looks like a nice, easy mid-week meal to make!
We had it tonight and enjoyed it! I would love one with just cheese tortellini and marinara sauce.
