5 Things On Friday {March’s Highlights}

March “comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb,” according to the Welsh proverb. I don’t know if that is always true of this month, but I do know I have a lot to say about March…so let’s jump right into the highlights!

1// Family, Food & Music

My Dad was able to come down one weekend (Mom was speaking at a conference) and attend a huge Southern Gospel concert with us. We had front row seats and enjoyed every second of it! The next day we rounded out the weekend with a delicious lunch at our favorite Mexican restaurant. Nachos are always good idea.

2// The Best Yes Girls

This month we finished our weekly book club study of The Best Yes. It was such a great read (there’s more to come about that later), but the fellowship and friendship alone was worth the weekly time commitment. There were a total of six of us that met each week as we were able. If you haven’t read this book, I highly recommend it!

3// Snow in March

It only lasted a couple hours, but we did have snow in March! Three days later it was in the 70’s. 🙂

4// Beauty and the Beast

We’ve been dying to see this movie since they announced it a couple years ago, and it did not disappoint! I still say the Broadway version is my favorite – but this was pretty fabulous. Have you seen it? What did you think?

5// Vacation

We were so grateful to have a few days to get away this month! Waking up to this view was exactly what we needed:

The lovely place where we stayed (literally ON the lake) had amazing views from every window.

There were some pretty great views on the road, as well!

And what’s a vacation without LOTS of good food? For Paul, that means eating at Pal’s once a day. For me, that means all the carbs. 🙂

What was your favorite thing about March?

  1. Looks like you had an awesome spring break! Food is a big part of my travels, too. I especially love visiting favorite restaurants that I don’t have in my neighborhood. There aren’t any calories on vacation. 😉 Beauty and the Beast looked interesting, but I’ll probably wait until it’s out on DVD.

  2. What a fun week! Your vacation looked so relaxing. Love those lake views and all the good food you ate. Isn’t that always a highlight of vacation!?!? I’m so glad you enjoyed The Best Yes. I loved it and found that it applied to so many areas of my life. And your book club makes me miss being in a book club. I really need to start a new one!

  3. March was a great month for you! I really want to see Beauty and the Beast but we will probably wait until it goes on DVD. Your view from the lake house looks so peaceful and those pancakes…yum!

  4. So fun to have friends to read with. I have been missing that lately. Those lake views look stunning. What an amazing time away together. Hope y’all had another great weekend.

  5. Wow! It looks like you had a fun March. I am so looking forward to seeing Beauty and the Beast! I am glad you had a fun time with family and that you were able to go on vacation with Paul. Your vacation spot looks so lovely!

  6. That vacation looks so wonderful! Is it a rental? I’m in NC…maybe I could email you for the info. Great post as always.

  7. Oh, I envy you that lakeside vacation! (And shame on me for envying you, when my hubby and I just returned from a short getaway at the ocean!) There is just something about a lake.
