My 2017 Skin Care and Beauty Favorites {Drugstore}

this post contains affiliate links

I talk a lot about saving money on groceries, but I am also very serious about keeping my personal care budget as low as possible. I don’t allow myself to shop at Ulta, Sephora or department stores for makeup or skin care. I know there are ways to save on various products in those stores, but I find it easier to stick to my budget when I shop the drugstore brands instead.

My skin care and beauty products come from Target and TJ Maxx. It’s also very convenient to purchase those items when I’m shopping for household items – sometimes I take advantage of Target’s free shipping and just have them delivered to my door!

There are several skin care and makeup products that I discovered – and came to love – in 2017! Watch the video below to see what they are!

Products Mentioned:

Neutrogena Microclear Line
Facial Scrub
Power Clear Wash
Triple Action Toner
Blemish Concealer

Acure Organics Line (look for it discounted at TJ Maxx!)
Day Cream
Pore Minimizing Facial Scrub
Pore Clarifying Red Clay Mask

L’Oreal Anti Redness BB Cream

CND Vinylux Polish & Top Coat (look for it at TJ Maxx!)
The polish color I showed here is “Serene Green,” but I also love “Irreverent Rose” for all seasons and “Hand Fired” for fall!

Did you discover a new product last year that you plan to continue to purchase in 2018? How do you save money on your makeup and skin care?

  1. Great round-up! I use Neutrogena products, too! Their Deep Clean Cream Cleanser’s been my favorite for years, but the formula just changed in the past year or so. There are great products and deals to be had from drugstores! Most of my face cleansers and such can be found at drugstores and Target/Walmart, but I’ll splurge a little at times on my lip products. I participate in some panels/surveys online, so I’ll put some of those earnings toward a “fun” thing here and there. 🙂

  2. I love Neutrogena’s rapid wrinkle repair regenerating cream… its about 22.00 when I order it off of Amazon with prime… I think its better than much more expensive creams from Philosophy…and I have tried more expensive foundations but always come back to the 8.00 Cover Girl cream to powder foundation… the only product I “spend” on is a particular shade of blush by Clinique… but it lasts SO LONG… I don’t mind spending a little more on it 🙂
