Happy Friday! It’s time to wrap up June with a round of highlights. Here it is!
What I Wore: During the summer months I live in dresses and light, comfortable clothing. Working in a cold office allows me to enjoy a few layers during the day!
What I Watched: I started Parks and Recreation in the spring and finished it last week! I had only watched a couple episodes when it first aired, and I feel like any true fan of The Office should also watch P&R. Now we’re watching MasterChef (SO glad that Joe Bastianich is back!) while also working our way through White Collar (for the 3rd or 4th time…it’s such a good one!).
What I Ate: So much goodness! My mom, sister, nephews and I met up in Asheville for lunch at Another Broken Egg Cafe. It was delicious! We ordered a plate of biscuit beignets to share and decided that was a good call. So delicious! I enjoyed my fried green tomato & crab cake entree as well. We’ll definitely eat there again!
We also tried a new local restaurant called Tacos and Mas. It’s a nice twist on Mexican food with flavors from several Latin countries! This was not a good restaurant for a picky eater – so while I loved it, Paul wasn’t so crazy about it! 🙂 He’s really sweet to take me to places that aren’t his favorite.
What I Was Up To: I transitioned to working 3 days a week instead of 4 – things are pretty slow at my office during the summer and I can always use an extra day at home! I freshened up the decor in several rooms and was really pleased with the results. I also try to get all my errands done early in the day so I’m not lugging groceries to the car in the extreme heat. As a result, I’m back home with a chunk of my to-do list done by lunch time!
What I’m Looking Forward To: I’m so excited to read through Proverbs with you next month! So far there are almost 40 of us who are committed to reading one chapter of Proverbs each day in July! Click here to read the post all about it and to join the group. It’s not too late to join!

I hope you had a great month, too!
My work schedule is much lighter in the summer, too. Working at a school, I have most of the summer off, although I fill in here and there for people on vacation. It’s so nice to have time to catch up and also enjoy the season! 🙂
You have been trying some tasty-looking restaurants lately! That was very nice of Paul to take you. 🙂 And I’m glad you had family time, too. I love meeting relatives for a meal out!

What fun!! Glad you got to enjoy a meet up with you mom, sister and boys. Your food looked tasty. I’ve never tried fried green tomatoes so I’m curious about them. Those beignets looked so good! Love that dark floral dress you have on. Super cute!

The next time you’re in the South, give fried green tomatoes a try. They’re so good – especially with a good sauce. 🙂

I would almost kill for one less day of work per week lol…summer is the busyiest time of year for me at work and I’m kind of thinking maybe I need to rethink finding a new position.

I spent a lot of years working full time (and then some), so I don’t take my current schedule for granted – trust me. 🙂

Enjoy your extra day off!! I know you will find plenty to do around the house. I tend to be picky too so I understand Paul’s aversion to some foods. I am getting better at trying new things.

I’m not sure I’ll be able to go back to working 4 days after this, ha! 🙂
