Although I’m not hosting Thanksgiving this year, I still get to make some delicious Thanksgiving food. We are celebrating with my family in Tennessee and are actually having our big Thanksgiving meal this weekend! My mom and sister are amazing cooks and I’m very excited to eat all the things they’re making.
My mom and I both noticed the Baked Mac and Cheese with Bacon in this month’s Southern Living Magazine. Doesn’t that sound amazing? I’ve never made mac and cheese from scratch (I know, right?!) so I’m really excited to make this recipe!
For pre-meal snacks, I’m making our favorite Cheddar Bacon Cheeseball to serve with Ritz crackers.
I’m also making a veggie tray that will have two sections – one sweet and one savory. The sweet section will have apple slices and the new apple dip that I absolutely love. The savory section will have some of the usual suspects like:
- Sweet Peppers
- Cucumber Slices
- Ranch Dip
- Baby Dills
I love hosting Thanksgiving, but #HamFamHolidays at my parents’ house are always the best. We’ve been reminded this month that life is uncertain and will be hugging each other a little tighter!
Are you cooking for Thanksgiving? What are you looking forward to eating?
That mac and cheese sounds amazing!!! We are traveling to celebrate Thanksgiving this year. I’m in charge of desserts so my pie and cookies will be transported. I’ve never hosted a big Thanksgiving, but I do always cook a Thanksgiving meal for my little family. Sometimes it’s before Thanksgiving and sometimes it’s after. I always look forward to making my favorite recipes and having leftovers to enjoy at home.

My Dad and Brother In Law loved it! Personally I didn’t think it was as creamy as it could have been. Oh well!
