Happy Friday! The days totally blurred together this week – I had to think hard every time I stopped to think what day it was. π I’m sure you had those moments, too. Here are the highlights from the mush of days that made up this week!
#1 Sunday
We are definitely enjoying the slow pace of Sunday mornings! I made pancakes and bacon – something we love but never have time to make or eat on a usual Sunday.
Before the online service began, I pulled out some of Paul’s favorite sheet music and got him to sing with me at the piano. I’m thankful that we can have our own worship service at home – which is something I enjoy even under normal circumstances!
After lunch we decided on an old-fashioned Sunday drive and headed out to the Foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, only 30 minutes from where we live. Everything is in bloom right now, so while the pollen is atrocious -the scenery is beautiful!
#2 Happy Mail: This came at the end of last week, but it has definitely brightened this week as well! I’m thankful for thoughtful friends and family – and for my Victoria magazine!
#3 Outdoor Living Brief Hanging: I’m not an outdoorsy person, so truthfully the amount of time I spend outside is more like a brief hangout than actual outdoor living. π
Paul finished staining our deck last weekend and we’ve both enjoyed it this week! I took my laptop out there one morning and was able to work in the shade for about an hour. We don’t have porch furniture right now so we’re rednecking it with folding chairs and kitchen stools. π
#4 A New YouTube Video!
I finally had a chance to upload a new video over on YouTube! After I finished my chores last Saturday, I realized it was the perfect time to film a quick home tour. You’ll see a few areas of the house I’ve never before shown on video! It’s not as perfectly staged as a Christmas tour would be – but I hope you enjoy seeing my house in everyday mode!
#5 A Different Way of Life:Β This week I set out to embrace and enjoy the different kind of schedule I’m able to keep right now. I took it slow, chose one extra chore or small project per day and enjoyed the time at home. The cats are definitely loving the extra company and attention!

In an effort to find eggs, milk and meat, I was at the grocery store by 6:45 yesterday morning (this was not one of their mornings set aside for vulnerable shoppers). Getting dressed that early in the morning is always risky – I realized halfway through my shopping trip that my right pant leg was half rolled-up. I don’t think anyone noticed, but I had a good chuckle to myself. π
You can see it in this picture I snapped at 6:30…along with that crazy section of teased hair. Bless. π
In case you missed these posts from this week:
I am looking forward to this weekend as we meditate on Jesus’ sacrifice and resurrection that gives hope and joy for both this life and the next! If you’re looking for a Good Friday service, I would love to invite you to join my church’s online service here on Facebook. It will be live at noon today, but you can access the live stream any time after that as well.
Your new deck set up looks so nice!! I bet you’ll get a lot of use out of it this Spring and Fall.

Spring and fall is right – not so much in summer. You know me! π Paul loves the hot weather so he’ll probably go out there when it’s hot.
