Happy Friday! South Carolina’s stay at home order expired on Monday of this week, I went back to work in the office and stores began reopening. It doesn’t feel like things changed overnight, but we are slowly getting back to normal. Here are my five highlights from the week!
#1 Slow Sunday Morning
On Sunday I fixed a simple breakfast of Martha White Strawberry Muffins, bacon and fruit. We ate breakfast on the deck and then watched our church service out there! It was the most perfect weather – not too hot, not too windy. My sister commented that Paul’s plate looks like just a pile of bacon…and that’s pretty much the truth. He’s not a big seasonal fruit eater. 🙂
#2 Sweet Tea
For the last several weeks Paul has made sure that our fridge is stocked either with cans of Dr. Pepper or half gallons of sweet tea from Bojangles. He’s not one for small gestures, so it’s extra sweet when he brings home little treats for me like that. (Other than Pal’s in East Tennessee, I think Bojangles has the best tea!)
#3 Favorite Amazon Purchase
I’ve seen Bethany talk about this lint remover from Amazon and I finally ordered one! For some reason my Old Navy swing dresses get so pilled after just one season of wear. The lint remover got rid of all the pills, making the dress look and feel brand new! I tested it on several different pairs of pants, sweatshirts and tops and had great success getting all the pills off my clothes. Yay!
#4 Cinco De Mayo Enchiladas
My mom sent me a pan of her famous beef enchiladas a couple months ago, and I pulled them out of the freezer on Tuesday for Cinco de Mayo! Is there anything better than your mom’s cooking? They were so delicious – and also comforting at a time when I’m still missing my family! We have plans to get together very soon and I can’t wait!
#5 Dayspring Gift Ideas
Dayspring has a lot of thoughtful – and affordable – gifts that are otherwise hard to find right now. I always pick up a few of my Christmas gifts on their site, and right now is a great time to shop (whether you’re shopping ahead for Christmas, picking up gifts for friends or even purchasing things for yourself)!
The main section that’s marked down right now includes encouragement gifts for everyone. I love these cards that say “Thanking God For You” – they would be great to have on hand.
Perpetual Calendars are great gifts, but are also wonderful to display in your home. I purchased this “Fear Not – What the Bible Says About Living a Fearless Life” calendar to keep on hand for a gift.
Romans 15:13 has become one of my favorite verses, and this beautiful plaque went right in my cart! Shipping is free when you spend $50, and I believe you can get a coupon for $10 off your order when you sign up for their email list.
As we head into Mother’s Day weekend, I’ll leave that verse as a prayer for you. Whether you have children at home, children who live outside of your home, children in heaven or children in your heart – May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13 ❤
That is really thoughtful of Paul to pick up your favorite drinks! Kevin’s been doing the majority of our grocery shopping and it thrills me to see some of my favorite food items in his grocery hauls even when I don’t ask for them. Those little gestures really add up!

He is more of a grand gesture kind of guy – which is also sweet – but I love the little things, too! 🙂

I thought the same thing about Paul’s plate!
Fun post today, and those enchiladas look absolutely amazing! You are so blessed that the stay at home order has expired. Ours has been extended …

Ugh, so sorry that your stay at home order has been extended. I saw this morning that Washington’s goes through July! Hopefully yours isn’t that long. Hang in there! ❤

Ours is only until the end of May (so far, at least). Most of the deaths in our state have been at nursing homes, so it’s beginning to feel a bit constraining for our communities in general. On the plus side, though, many businesses in our state are considered essential, so didn’t need to close. Others are now beginning to open up gradually. It could be much worse.
We have some major travel plans for mid-June into July, however, so we are hoping all that can still happen.

Have you tried Milo’s tea? I buy it at Wal-Mart.
