Without a doubt, the best part of May was spending Memorial Day weekend with my family! We haven’t all been together since New Year’s Day and it was high time for a #HamFamHoliday!

My parents hosted the most wonderful long weekend with more than two full days of good food, fun and family time!

My sister’s twins are 3 1/2 and they are so much fun! Paul is pretty popular with them, which is easy to see. Who doesn’t love a 39 year old man in a kiddie pool? 🙂

Dad grills, Mom cooks and we eat! 🙂

We spent most of the time just hanging out on the patio, watching the boys play and enjoying each other’s company. It was a wonderful time! (Also pictured above – my trusty handheld fan that is essential for summer survival! 🙂 )

Things are slowly getting back to a somewhat-normal state here in South Carolina. Most of the stores are open, and the grocery supply gets better every week. We ate in a couple restaurants this month – even though it feels weird with everyone in masks and gloves! We’re very thankful that our church resumed in-person services last week. I know this isn’t the case for all of you and my heart goes out to those that are still pretty much stuck at home. ❤

The current narrative in our world says that 2020 is the worst year ever and that everything is doom and gloom. Granted, there have been some terrible and disastrous events this year – but I can still choose to enjoy the blessings that come as a result of God’s grace! No matter how out of control the world might appear, God is in control and He is always good.

He does according to his will among the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay his hand or say to him, “What have you done?” Daniel 4:35
