It is time to wrap up the month of January! This has been a pretty great month – the only thing that would have made it better would be a snow day.
We usually get a little snow in January, so I’m crossing my fingers and holding out for a January 31st snow like last year! But speaking of snow…
The traveling White Christmas exhibit came to our local history museum! This collection of costumes used in the beloved Christmas movie, along with promotional posters and memorabilia is normally housed in a museum in Kentucky.
The exhibit was in town through the end of this month and I’m so glad we finally got to see it!
Paul and I are both huge fans of White Christmas (and classic movies in general), so this was really exciting!
My nephews came to our house for the day! I love getting to spend time with them – not only so that my sister and brother in law can go out on a date, but just because they’re so much fun.
They love animals and tried really hard to get Peggy to love them back. They weren’t quite successful this time. 🙂
I know I’ve talked about it a lot, but the highlight of our month was our Disney World trip! I was afraid that the restrictions and general Covid culture would make it a less than magical trip, but we had such a great time.
Favorite purchase of the month: This electric mug warmer! I don’t know how I ever lived without it. My coffee is hot all the way to the last drop, no matter how long it takes me to finish it!
From this month’s Bible reading: I love reading the stories from Genesis and Exodus and seeing how God was faithful to His people from the very beginning.
“The Lord did for Sarah what he had promised…the God of my (Jacob’s) father has been with me…God has not let him harm me (Jacob)…He has been with me (Jacob) everywhere I have gone…the Lord was with Joseph and extended kindness to him…God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. God saw the Israelites, and God knew.”
“The helpless one entrusts himself to you; you are a helper of the fatherless.” Psalm 10:14
I know there are at least 30 of you who are reading along with me this year – congrats on making it through the first month! If you’re behind, don’t despair. You can listen to the audio version while you’re driving or working around the house. There’s no rule that says you must be sitting still to hear God’s Word. 🙂
How was your January? Have you gotten any snow?

What type of bag do you recommend to carry at Disney? Crossbody, small backpack, etc?
I’ve done both the crossbody and the backpack. Wearing a crossbody is more convenient because you can grab things out of it without stopping and you don’t have to take it off every time you sit down on a ride. However, I’ve done a small backpack the last two trips and preferred it because it’s more comfortable to wear and can hold a lot more. I have a video about what I put in that backpack – it’s here if you want to check it out. 🙂 https://youtu.be/LqjEP68ABeo
Thanks. You do a nice job on your videos!
Thank you, Annette!
Kevin loves his coffee hot so he asked for a fancy coffee mug that keeps his coffee at a certain temp. He said it’s the greatest invention ever. Haha. Hope you get a little bit of snow this winter 🙂
I’ve seen those! If I drank my coffee on the go I would definitely look into getting one.
