Making Paula Deen’s Famous Fried Pork Chops

I was so excited to visit the Paula Deen store during our family vacation in Pigeon Forge this month! We didn’t have time to eat at Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen, but my Mom and I had the best time browsing through the store located on the first floor of the restaurant.

You can’t visit the store without a picture next to the cardboard cutout of Paula! 🙂

During one of her YouTube cooking shows, Paula mentioned her Famous Breading mixes that are available in her stores and online. I couldn’t wait to stock up on all of them!

The store is also packed full of little “kitcheny” things – pretty bakeware, linens, candles and more. I picked up this sweet little dish as a memento of our family vacation that weekend!

Tip: marry someone who happily indulges your love of all things southern cooking. ❤

The first one I tried was the Fried Chicken Coating – which you can use to fry any protein. I used it on some thick cut pork chops and was thrilled with how they turned out!

The best part, in my opinion, is that you can make the most delicious gravy with a few tablespoons of the mix. Making the gravy with a little milk, butter and the pan drippings renders the best Southern gravy you’ve ever tasted! 🙂

I served them with mac and cheese and my southern green beans. Yum.

You can order the mixes online if you don’t mind paying for shipping. But you can still make Paula Deen’s pork chops without it, using this recipe. And if you’ve never fried pork chops, watch this video that’s full of helpful tips.

Who’s hungry for pork chops?!

    1. Yes – it seems like they are adding new items that will be more than $1 but aren’t increasing the prices of existing inventory. I could be wrong, but I’m not going to worry about it until it starts happening in my stores. 🙂

  1. Those look so yummy!! I’ve never been to one of Paula Deen’s stores/restaurants, but I love several of her recipes. It looks like these dry mixes helps make cooking her recipes jut a little bit easier. They’d probably make great hostess gifts, too!
