Christmas and cookies just go together – I can’t have Christmas without some cookies! My mom bakes dozens of different cookies each December (see #3 below), and I find myself following suit in my own kitchen. Next weekend my mom, sister and I are having a co-op baking party in hopes of putting out an impressive number of treats! We are serious about Christmas cookies, and it’s hard to say which one is my absolute favorite. I couldn’t pick just one – so here are my top five favorite Christmas cookies! Click on the pictures to be redirected to each recipe.
1//Snickerdoodles: This is my favorite cookie of all time, and when you read the post you’ll find out why. I love to make these at Christmas – they’re sort of like a sugar cookie, but so much easier to put together. No icing, no mess!
2//Three Ingredient Peanut Butter: My husband loves these peanut butter cookies. This recipe is great if you need to make something last minute – with only three ingredients, they don’t take long to throw together! Mix in some Christmas M&M’s to make them extra festive.
3//Raspberry Jam Shortbreads: Before starting this post, I polled my immediate family to see what their favorite Christmas cookie might be. These Raspberry Jam Shortbreads won hands down! My mom makes these every year and we all love them.
4//Pumpkin Chocolate Chip: My husband’s favorite cookie is a soft chocolate chip cookie. These pumpkin chocolate chip cookies are always a hit at my house – the pumpkin makes the cookies soft and moist! I know the orange plating in the picture below doesn’t look very Christmasy…try not to let that keep you from making these cookies. 🙂
5//Peppermint Chocolate Marshmallows: This isn’t a cookie or a recipe…but it’s something I make every Christmas! These Peppermint Chocolate Marshmallows are perfect as gifts (package them with a cute mug and some gourmet hot chocolate) or as an addition to your hot chocolate bar. I even like to eat them all by themselves – they stay fresh in the refrigerator for up to four weeks. There’s no post with elaborate instructions…just follow the directions below!
What’s your favorite Christmas cookie? (Psst…have you entered my giveaway from Mercy Verity Candles?)

I’m attending a cookie swap on Sunday and love these cookie ideas! I plan on making orange snowballs, but maybe I will switch to Snickerdoodles!

Yum!! Your cookie baking party sounds like a blast. I’m hoping they’ll be some vlog footage from it 🙂 I really love all cookies, but at Christmas time I want a good sugar cookie, Mexican wedding cake cookies, chocolate chip cookies and homemade candy. I try to plan several days to help my mom bake, dip and roll out her treats so we all have plenty to snack on during Christmas break.

Oh let me see, Nut Fingers are my favorites. My Mother in Law always made up these little nutty crescent cookies and mine never taste as good as hers did! That is just one of the sad things about losing a mama who made special treats for you! I make Date Filled Oatmeal Cookies every year for my husband as his great aunt Maggie in Minnesota always made those and mailed them south at Christmas! Mine are not as good as hers either but she used Lard in hers…that was probably the secret!:)

You don’t cook with lard? 😉 Making those treats from our loved ones gone on is a great way to remember their part in our lives. I love that you made the oatmeal cookies for your hubby! ❤
