As per usual, my monthly recap post is full of food pictures. What can I say? It was a busy month but we ate well! 🙂
#1 July 4th Celebrations
Paul and I headed downtown for our city’s July 4th celebration. A huge storm was headed our way, making the first hour of the event breezy and comfortable! We enjoyed the patriotic program and then drove back home just in time to escape the rain!
I made all the typical food we eat on the 4th including a big plate of deviled eggs. It’s delicious to be an American! 🙂
#2 Paul’s Birthday
We spent Paul’s birthday traveling home from New Jersey, so the next day I went right to work on his birthday dessert. This Peanut Butter Dream Pie was one of the first recipes to catch my eye in the Love Welcome Serve Cookbook and I’ve been saving it for this exact occasion!
It’s very delicious, but also very rich. You only need a bite or two to be satisfied. Next time I’ll make it in tiny individual dishes instead of a whole pie. It took him a week to finish the whole thing, but none went to waste! 🙂
#3 Favorites
I’m just not a summer clothes person, so these quasi-summer outfits have been my favorite this month! I’m also loving the OPI polish “We Seafood And Eat It.” (that’s a shoppable link for Walmart, but I always find my polish at TJ Maxx for $4!)
#4 Road Trip Fun
Of course the big event this month was our road trip to New Jersey – click here to read all about that!
#5 Good Eats
Ice cream, popsicles and peaches. 🙂

Linking up with High Five For Friday & Five on Friday
July was busy for you guys! We also did a road trip, and our 4th of July fireworks would’ve been stormed out had they not been on July 3. Our town always does them the day before the 4th, which worked out perfectly this year! Oh my gosh…..that pie! It looks amazing, and eating it for a week would be delightful! 🙂 Holiday/birthday food is the best!

It’s a delicious recipe, but you seriously only need a bite or too. It would be delicious in little shot glasses – that’s all you need to be satisfied!
