This picture that my Mom took of me with one of my nephews perfectly captures how I feel about September – all smiles! I love this time of year and all the fun things that come with it!

One of those fun things was a day with my super cute nephews. They are really into all things tools and construction and I can’t get over how cute they are in those hats!

I’m enjoying my fall decor – you can see the full tour here if you missed it!

I turned 36 this month! Gifts from Paul along with cards and flowers from sweet friends made the day really special. Not only that, we met up with my family for lunch! These are my favorite people and I was so thankful to spend the afternoon with them.

We ate at a local BBQ place that serves one of my favorite things ever – baked potatoes stuffed with BBQ, cheese sauce, tomatoes, bacon and green onions. YUM. My sister brought homemade brownies for dessert to round out a delicious meal!

And as a special birthday gift for the fall weather lover, it was cold and windy! However, the restaurant’s only dining option was in an alley behind the restaurant which was basically a wind tunnel.

Everyone bundled up in coats, blankets and any other extra clothes we happened to have in our cars. We ate as fast as we could and then hurried over to Starbucks for hot coffee and outdoor seating in the sun! 🙂 It was definitely a birthday celebration to remember. Ha! 🙂

We rounded out the day with more good food! Paul picked up supper from another of my favorite places, Tropical Grille, which we enjoyed with a few episodes of Parks and Rec.

The other big highlight from this month was our trip to Myrtle Beach! I recapped that trip on this post – but it was definitely the best time I’ve ever had at the beach!

There have been some great days this month – but there have also been some hard ones! Life is not perfect. One of my favorite passages from my Bible reading this month is Titus 2:12-13. “We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God, while we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed.”

This month my Bible reading plan has also been in the book of Jeremiah, one I’ve come to really love over the last few years. He says this about God’s Word – “When I discovered your words, I devoured them. They are my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, O Lord God of Heaven’s Armies.” (Jeremiah 15:16)

I’m a big fan of Dayspring.com – so I want to make sure you don’t miss their Christmas preview sale! Get FREE SHIPPING with code MERRY – only through September 28!

  1. Glad you were able to get together with your family for your birthday. Parties in 2020 definitely look different, but I’m happy you were able to make it happen. September was a good month for you and I hope the Fall temps and nice weather stick around for a long time.
