Working full-time leaves Saturday as my only chance to clean the house, run errands or work on projects around the house. It’s easy to become overwhelmed with all that needs to be done in just one day, but I’ve found that sticking to a set routine helps me get the most important tasks accomplished.
There are five tasks that, when done, make a huge difference in the way my house looks and feels to me. There are a few other tasks that I prefer to do once a week as well, but if they don’t get done on Saturday, I can either fit them in one evening during the week or let them go till the next Saturday.
This routine takes less than two hours (in my 1150 square foot house). Sometimes I add an extra project like cleaning out the fridge or de-cluttering a closet.
Do you have a set routine for cleaning your house? I’d love to hear about it!

It is pretty much the same – I still do at least one chore every day, but I’ve moved around what chores I do on each day. I talked through that new routine here in this video: https://youtu.be/fx6Wo3o0JzI
Thanks for asking, Stacey! 🙂
